A 2025 scientific review dedicated to AI toys found that, when thoughtfully designed, AI toys can support children's cognitive and social-emotional development, particularly early STEM skills and digital literacy, grounded in Piaget's theory of how children's minds develop stage by stage.

Drawing on two decades of research and a meta-analysis of 27 studies involving more than 1,500 children, scientists found a moderate-to-large positive effect of interactive AI companions on children's language learning, especially on the motivation and confidence that keep children talking and exploring.
The best AI supports parents, never replaces them
A 2025 meta-analysis in Frontiers in Robotics and AI showed that educational AI has a strong positive effect on learning (d = 0.88) when it works alongside a parent or teacher and that personalised systems that adapt to a child's own pace consistently produce the best outcomes.
